i recently recieved a nokia 6111 and when i turn it on the set time screen appears and then disappears. the screen reappears without the backlite and then fades out. the battery is fully charged and the sim card is brand new and pay as u go. do i need to enter any codes to enable the fone to work?

hi i was wondering if you can help, about 6 months ago everytime i try to get in to my sent messages folder it says "operation failed try again " and i do but i just cant get into it, also there are two messages in my sent items that i am unable to delete as it says "error occured deletion not complete " i have no problem deleting any other messages in my sent items, just these two messages which i cant delete and i think are the reason i cant get in to my sent message folder.i have sinced changed sim cards ,both where o2 but i lost my first one and therefore now have a new one and new number but i still have the same problem. my no is 07895753396 and the phone is a nokia 6111, anything you can do on your side to help or any suggestions? thanks.ps the rest of the phone is fine,
