3 inch lcd (electronics) have used this camera for a lcopue of weeks and on first impressions it looks great but when you get back to pc you realize where this camera is lacking in several areas.i don't wish to give a full review of the camera here, there are many online of differing opinions so will just give a basic pro's and con's i have found after 14 days use. pros if you only want to print to 4 x 6 or simalar sizes this could be the only camera you will ever need(even a4 will probably look good), fantastic battery life while it doesn't reach the 1000 shots claimed in real life use it does genuinly last around double that of the competition, the screen is fantastic in all lighting conditions, macro's can look stunning with brilliantly blurred backgrounds(super macro can take images as little as 1cm away), colours are vivid and the camera has good effects. have achieved some really impressive shots using it. good manual mode. cons burst and sweep modes are very low resolutions, camera can take 2 or 3 seconds bewteen shots, landscapes lack any sharpness and when zoomed in to original file size show lots of noise around edges on anything at any distance, image stabilization is poor and renders the further ends of the zoom pointless if you want any detail captured over distances past around 6 or 7 times zoomed, some settings you would want in image options are buried in menu options making for a very over complicated set up if you are wanting to take images spontaniously. mutlimotion option is low res to and more often than not comes back as error so you miss the shot you want. in short most of the features this camera offers like sweep, burst, motion ect are very low resolution around 2mp and to be honest need to be on a tripod to achieve good results which sort of defeats the point and click branding of the camera(sweep and burst works great without a tripod but multimotion will let you down as often as not). to many pixels on a small sensor, not the greatest lens and a very average at best image stabilization(but poor for a 12x zoom and pointless for the superzoom option). overall my genuine opinion is its a great camera if your a casual photographer that just wants family and garden snaps but if you want a versitle compact to take with you and expect decent pictures of all situations im afraid this may dissapoint.
